Welcome to Sabre's Sanctum

This website is devoted to showcasing the creative endeavours of Firequill; however, this mostly consists of visual art. As well as art and things, there are also a number of tutorials available to hopefully help improve the skills of beginner artists as well as a forum to share your ideas and creations. Learn more...

1 Well, bugger.

There are more problems with my site than I thought! I hate it when things BREAK. Today, I've discovered that comment editing doesn't work. I don't know how long that's been the case... For all I know, the code I added to fix the forum post editing problems could be the cause, but... but... ugh. Also, the footer comes up too high on some pages and it's frustrating! I suppose this new version of my website isn't as functional as I'd hoped it would be when I was coding it.

Alas. I really do not want to have to redo my website again any time soon, but I might have to. (What I'd really like is to do it all in HTML 5 and CSS 3!1 But those aren't done yet.) I suppose it would give me the opportunity to perhaps create a more cleanly-organised front page and other areas of the site. I don't know how capable I am of this though. Maybe I should also get rid of the uh... user... log on... thing to the left there since that alone is likely a cause of numerous layout problems, untidy workarounds and so on. I was so happy with it though with its greenish Login/Logout button thing at its bottom! It's sort of crushing to think of getting rid of it. It WOULD let everything else be nicely centred though and would give me a better chance of making a clean-looking layout... (But then where would login stuff go so it was displayed on every page without looking awkwardly-placed?)

I suppose I have a lot of website-related things to think about and I'll probably be putting it off a lot before actually doing anything.

I wish I could say I had some exciting new tutorials to present to the world, but I haven't really been emotionally up to the challenge of doing much art at all. I'll probably still post things in the art blog if I've made any sketches worth showing or talking about, at the very least. I've been feeling somewhat stressed by art-related things since I probably don't spend enough time NOT thinking about how I 'should be better than I am' or 'need to practise constantly' and uh... such thoughts make art seem a lot more like tedious work than an enjoyable hobby or something. I think a healthy prescription of video games should get me back on track!
